Narrative blog task

ACTION codes : In this short clip we can see that one of the main characters opens a case fulls of weapons such as guns and grenades. This may signify to the audience that a violent scene may occur shortly after.

ENIGMA codes : Th

Todorov: equilibrium
Equilibrium : Everything is going well Kim gets in contact with her dad and they both try to make a plan in order for her to come and rescue him. She speaks with him on the phone and works out where he is located successfully.

Disequilibrium: When Kim finally works out where her father is being held hostage his kidnapper walks in while her father is on the phone to her . This disrupts their phone call which means Kim's plan to rescue her dad has been stalled.

Character theory: Propp
The Villain: The man who kidnaps Bryan and his wife Len.
The Princess : Usually the princess is a female , however in this case scenario Bryan has to be saved.
The Hero: Kim seems to be the hero in this scene as she locates where her mother and father are and go to rescue them.

ACTION codes : When the main character Madea climbs up onto the crane and begins to use it we instantly know that some drama/action will occur.

ENIGMA codes: The audience begins to ask questions like 'What is she going to do with the crane?' 'Will she get caught for what she did?'

Todorov: equilibrium
Equilibrium : Everything is going well , Madea has found a parking spot and is ready to take it.
Disequilibrium: Medea's parking spot is stolen by another women which disrupts her calm collect mood and makes her become very furious.

Character theory: Propp
The Villain: The women who takes Medea's parking space.
The Hero: Madea is the central protagonist. In order to re-gain her parking space she must move the other ladies car , which she did.
